Headquartered in Calgary, AB, Canada; United Pacific is an Inline inspection company catering to the owners of Oil and Gas pipelines around the world.

The In‐Line Inspection (ILI) Field Technician will be a key member of the United Pacific team, as this role will be responsible for carrying out preparation, mobilization, and infield deployment of our Inline Inspection Services. Due to recent growth, United Pacific is now accepting applications for the position of Field Technician.

Essential Functions

  • Inspection, testing and repair of ILI tools and mechanical assemblies using work procedures, engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on ILI tools and support equipment.
  • Complete all required maintenance records and documentation accurately.
  • Aid in the complete mechanical assembly and testing of new tool builds.
  • Raises any potential assembly and maintenance problems, issues, or concerns with the Shop Manager in a timely manner.
  • Supports flow of information to other departments and stakeholders to achieve goals.
  • Assist in inventory management to ensure suitable quantities of spares and parts are available for tasks.
  • All other assigned or associated tasks and duties as directed by the Shop Manager.
  • Help meet or exceed the customer expectations and company goals.
  • Occasional out of town travel for parts delivery or field crew support.

Education

Diploma/ Associates or Trade Certificate Preferred in one of the following disciplines.

  • Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Automotive Service Technician
  • Millwright
  • Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Petroleum Engineering Technology

Experience

  • 1 – 3 years of experience in mechanical assembly.
  • Previous experience with Inline Inspection Tools/ Downhole Tools an asset.
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings/ Bills of Material (BOM) /schematic diagrams.
  • Ability to operate hand/power tools.
  • A technical or electromechanical background.
  • Preference will be given to individuals who have worked in the Oil and Gas and or related industry.

Skills Required

  • Ability to work with proprietary software.
  • Ability to utilize Office and work in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to complete tasks fully in a timely and quality manner.
  • Ability to maintain poise, quality of work and efficiency during busy times.
  • Good Mechanical Aptitude.

  • Ability to maintain concentration over long periods of time.
